Decided to do something different with this one.
Started out with a sketch of Natalie Portman. Changed the eyes a bit to make them more open and brighter. Added the elf ears. Redid her hairstyle. (The braids were fun.) Modified her outfit a little. And voila! Elf chick.
You can still see Natalie in there, but I'm cool with that.

Gah. I'm getting horrible cramps in my wrist from drawing so much. I usually spend about 8-9 hours these days. Pretty much non-stop. Major ouch ouch. The sketches I've been posting here are just the warm ups I do to get into the flow of things. They're direct copies of photos so I don't have to think about composition etc. Though I do selectively edit the pics a bit and often add or exclude things based on what makes a better portrait.

Ok. So I'm not a huge blogger.
It took a trip around Europe for 6 months to get me to actually post regularly. And really that was only because I was lazy and didn't want to email everyone on where I was and what I was doing.
So what the hell am I doing on Livejournal you ask?
Really I'm just the icon / art wench for Anna Rosa. From time to time I'll kick out a few icons for her or do up a sketch of her latest celebrity man candy. Sometimes I'll help her with her journal's layout. (Before road testing it here of course!) And before you ask, no I'm not really interested in making icons for anyone else. Sorry!
Oh... and lest you think that stealing is an option. I assure you it is not.
I have a crack team of icon ninjas at my disposal and they are well trained. Seriously. They have these little ninja shuriken throwing stars made out of poorly burnt music cds. And they ain't afraid to use 'em!
